Vanguard EMS Appoints their new Director of Sales for Defense & Aerospace

March 2009-Portland, OR – Electronics Manufacturer provider Vanguard EMS, is pleased to announce Rachel Matthews as their Director of Sales for Defense & Aerospace. Matthews brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Vanguard in both of these industries.

Matthews joins Vanguard with an extensive educational background and 12 years of experience in manufacturing. At the Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine in London, England, Matthews earned her BS with honors in Chemistry. During this time, she completed her Thesis in Material Science at the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Physique et Chimie in Bordeaux.

Matthews has since worked in Research and Development positions as well as high profile roles in Electronics, holding key positions at both Viasystems and Unicircuit. She has served in strategic roles in Engineering & Executive Management, as Inside Sales Manager, and also in Product Marketing & Technical Sales.

Matthews developed significant account relationships during her time at Unicircuit and Viasystems within the High Reliability Industries. From her education, the diversification of roles she has held, the relationships she has built with various clients, and time spent working within the defense and aerospace industries, Rachel is both technically and interpersonally competent.
