Vanguard EMS invests in new SMT equipment for three production lines

Portland, OR – February 2009 - Vanguard EMS, a leading western United States electronics manufacturing services provider, announced its investment in three new Assembleon surface mount placement machines, valued at $800,000, to upgrade three of its five production lines.

According to Anh Vu, Vanguard’s Director of Manufacturing, the new equipment is designed to place small form factor parts such as 01005 chip components and fine-pitch parts including .4mm BGAs. In addition, Mr. Vu stated, “This equipment will increase our placement capability, precision, and speed. We expect this investment to be of significant benefit to our customers.”

In addition to the equipment investment, Vanguard also reported strengthening its information technology infrastructure serving all production lines with improved line optimization and balancing, and protected access to sensitive information. Only specifically authorized persons will have access to programs for ITAR controlled defense and homeland security related products.
