Floyd’s service with Vanguard began in 1995, when he joined the company as its CFO. In 2000 he was named VP and General Manager of the company's three west coast operations, and he became Chief Executive Officer in 2003 when he purchased the company with Bill Winther. 

His management experience in manufacturing, service and public accounting industries includes Spectrum Electronics (transformers, power supplies and electronic manufacturing services), SymPro Inc. (financial software and information systems integration) and Wind Baron Corporation (wind powered water pumping systems).  He began his career with

the public accounting firm of Price Waterhouse in Chicago, Illinois. 

He graduated with a BS in accountancy in 1979 from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and received his CPA license from the State of Illinois.
